Given the average performance of BA's around a track, any track it would seem, would it not be worth releasing a trackpack? Something with Bilstein dampers, thicker anti-sway bars and serious track rubber. Sure it would add cost but there must be people out there who would love such a car? What do you think people?

Reading the latest Motor mag and BFYB, the GT is screaming for something like this to improve its cornering speed.
Cost would be sky high.. It would have to have Brembos' on top of suspension mods and also fix the Lag (foon) as it's quite noticable in a track environment..
Other than that, it'd be a goer.. but really, for the extra ~$10K, u could buy a weekend racer (early evo/wrx) and just flog that around.
Weight - that is what is holding the buggers back. Give us a list of delete options or lightweight options far a trackpack. eg lightweight, non-electri seats, carbonfibre bonnet, boot, wing, body kit etc, lightweight wheels and super sticky tyres, delete power windows, minimum stereo, less insulation etc. They could save a couple of hundred kilos and pick up a few club racers.

I could not agree more, the Holden boys only need 230-240 rwkw and are well into the low 12's, we struggle with 280+, the BA id too fat, utes are worse.
Dont get me wrong, I love my car, and would never own anything but a Ford, but they need to be put on a Diet, about 200kg reduction would be a great start, then the springs, brakes etc can all be lighter, reducing unsprung weight etc, Look at Ducati motorbikes, they have used this policy forever, and it works.
Come on Ford, put them on a diet.
