Turbo Oil Leak,Going back to Dealer for 2nd time fix.
I bought my T some time ago 2nd hand with 20.000 k's on the clock.
About 5 week's ago I found an area below the Turbo that was covered in gunk, wasn't sure if there had been a oil leak and it had been fixed and area not cleaned, or still leaking so I washed the area and kept an eye on it.
Found yes it is a current leak, put the T on the ramps and found oil droplets on head of bolts holding return oil pipe from turbo in to sump.
Booked into my local dealer explained the problem and where the oil was leaking from,Dropped the T off. Phone call received problem fixed, picked up T as I was going away the long weekend didn't want any problems.
Got 250K's from home today hopped out of T, and burning oil fumes smelt and seen from under bonnet, purchased torch had a look under Turbo and greater amount of oil sitting on the alloy crossmember than seen before.
Leak was never that bad, purchased 5 Litres of good Castrol Oil to carry home continualy checking Oil Level. Looked like Puffing Billy when stopped and smelling like a BBQ complete with smoke. The T will be going back to my local dealer tuesday morning with a please explain.
IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE COSTA NOSTRA who gives the OK to the dealer to correct problems properly, doe's this person spend life as a bean counter in a dark room counting the dollars it would take to fix issue's that come before him. Is it the dealer who cant get it right.
This problem came to attention on the T that was sent to europe, a 20 cent O ring that was the wrong size when fitted. Right now I could not rate my dealer as the scoring system doesn't allow a score of -100.
At least I now that the oil feed to my Turbo is working and that the oil is clean, and thats because I can see it. Lost oil, went down on the dipstick some 6-8mm.
