Forced Induction Technologies products are nothing more than crap.
Their intercooler package makes the car stall, rev up on start up and hesitate on part throttle.
They charge people $800 - $ 1000 for reworked second hand roller rockers .
They might make some power but you car becomes unreliable.

Re: VE HSV - any takers?

yes i do agree that there products are expensive but the few mods i have got it runs the same as standard 10 lb boost ,1.91 rockers 1.34 extractors cai 2.1/4 hsv system as i was saying it will beat a xr6 turbo over the 1\4 but in a street drag the xr6 will get me at obout 160ks i have had the car mods for about a year now

I was refering to their intercooler package that renders the car unreliable.
With your mods you'll be lucky to have 200kw at the motor.(maybe a mid 14 1/4)

So you can beat an XR6 over the 1/4.
What do you do in the 1/4 mile?

Next time you race an XR6 make sure someone is in the car.

Oh... and don't race on the street it's stupid.
Hope you get caught and loose your licence

Re: VE HSV - any takers?

I am in the process of upgrading my BA XR8 - magnificent machine and have had to try the new holdens as an option. I have test driven the 6 cyl Omega (absolute rubish - would buy a sigma first) then drove entry level SS with 6 speed manual - very decent vehicle and impressed. Finaly took the club sport R8 out and for $70K plus - no way - slack handling in the front end, soft brakes - naaaaaaaaaaa.
Then visited Jackson ford and test drove the demo 06 typhoon - what a wonderful piece of vehicle. Quiet, smoothe, responsive and oh yeah felt like a pilot rather than driver.
At the end of the day - i wont be racing on the street but i know the phoon is just as fast and if not a little faster but it is just a superior vehicle. I did like the ss (entry level) and good value but too many problems already with everyone i know who has bought one. I am a ford man but have also owned a few holdens before (torry, stato, hz wagon) but after driving all the new stuff - FORD FORD FORD and the new Force 6 looks like a decent ride also

Re: VE HSV - any takers?

i'm pretty sure the gtr skyline that was BAND at bathurst was a straight 6 turbo yeah ??
hahaha so when the straight 6 turbo gets band from a "v8" race you gotta wounder why?
the reason behind why? cause no matter what you did to a v8 part from force induction, you anit never going to beat it,
and to ol'mate who proclaims beating a xr6 you prob did beat a xr6 but not a xr6T t being the missing letter.
you mod up a ve and spend the same amout of money on a xr6t and see which one is better.

ohh i also hear the qld police are now getting new f6 typhoons with the 6spd auto, if your ssv8's are ohh so great why are they now getting the all mighty f6?

money well spent if you ask me.... glory to the f6!!!!

Re: VE HSV - any takers?

anyone bothered to look at the video on that site? What a joke! they've got a vid of the speedo going from 10 to 120 km/h, the thing dies in the arse once second gear is started, and it takes nearly 6 seconds to go from 10 to 100 (ie 0-100 more than 6 seconds) and claim it is a low 12 high 11 car

And as for your car beating a stock T, they have over 180 rwkw stock (upto 210), so your 10 psi 168 isn't going to rate along side. Get the 8 psi generic tune fitted and you're 240rwkw in the T.

Can't believe anyone even rates the supercharged v6 alongside the turbo dohc 24valve intercooled T, some people have absolutely no idea...

Re: VE HSV - any takers?

I own a stock XR6t UTE and I ran a 1/4 mile in 14.6sec 2 weeks ago. Bear in mind I ran it with the hard cover on which adds quite abit of weight to my car + more than 60L of fuel (and also running on a stock 5psi boost).

The "slightly modified supercharge v6" piece of crap u're talking about ran a 14.4sec @ 94mph which only ran 0.2sec faster than my stock
Think about it... that car had to be modified to beat my stock by 0.2sec... what so great about that? Btw, the boss might just had a dodgy start... tell them to make 5-10 runs in a row and see how the average turns out to be.

At the end... mods vs mods OR stock vs stock = fair.
E.g. I can't compare mine to my mates RX7 + $20K+ worth of mods.

PS. Next time I might just hang a piece of shit first b4 I go on track... I might just gain that 0.2sec back
