well beware people ford wont pay my claim ,found there had been a computer upgrade even after all the go gear had been removed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so I was left with 9k rebuild bill,,,,,,,,couldnt afford that so sold the car for a mega loss!!!!,,,,,,,,,,,they also rang around tuning places pretending to be a good mate and said they wanted the same done to their car,,,,,,,,and guess what , they found me out eventually,,,,,,,,,the mechanics were caught off guard and spilled their guts, trying to sell a product , only to realise 10 minutes later ,oh **** ,what have we done!!!!!!!!!! so beware fellow racers they are watching you everywhere ,,,,,,,,,,,could they also be members of this site????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Can't imagine Ford get many warranty claims due to broken conrods. So they probably guessed that the car had been modded and looked harder than usual.
From what I've seen on the forums, Ford are pretty reasonable about mods. But if you blow up an engine with unapproved mods, and then try to make a warranty claim after you've put everything back to stock,
But 9k to repair - how much damage did the con rod do?

At some dealers you can use there mods as in Perth at the Morley dealer you can use all the Herrod mods without losing your warrenty it may cost a little more to do but at least no drama's if something goes wrong with the car.
I have read on here of people taking the centre muffler out to get more power or to make it flow better unless you have more than 280rwkw you are wasting your time as the standard turbo system is fine. Before you mod your car read up on what you really need to get the best out of your car may save you alot of hassle and money. For me i wanted a nice note so i got the Herrod system from the cats back and it is a nice note for a 6 and doesn't void warrenty

You might want to give them a call and check that one.... From what I gather, FoMoCo sent a letter to Dealers instructing no warranty claims to be made on Herrod modified cars, period...
They alter emissions and therfore make the car unroadworthy, hence no warranty..
If your dealer wants to take over the FoMoCo warranty, that's very good of them, but like I mentioned double check for peace of mind :)
