The old guard Vs the new. Battle of the cult cars.

Lets face it, anyone game to undertake the launches required from the WRX to achieve it's top 1/4mile time will not be driving their car for very long!

Long live the XR6T

They are very different cars, I would choose an XR6T over a WRX because I could comfortably put me and several of my other 6' plus mates in there comfortably, easily tow a trailer etc.

I prefer larger cars and have never been a real fan of WRX styling.

It was an amusing read. They all were.... my near stock wrx with only exhaust/turbo/ecu mods..... blew the xr6t/xr8 into the weeds..... too heavy..... ugly (beauty must definetly be in the eye of the beholder if they like wrxs).....Ford have no idea..... yada yada yada....
They seem to have lost the basic plot. If you really want to go really fast down the 400m buy a bike. For $18k you can easily do 11s or better.

If you want a comfortable, reasonably fast (14s +/-) reliable motor vehicle that can do most things e.g. carry 4 normal sized adults and will still do so with 200,000km on the clock, buy a XR6T/XR8/GT (or HSV if you have Mobil shares).

Here is wisdom.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the BEAST:
for it is the number of a F6 Typhoon; and its number is 0217.

If im not mistaken the original poster said he beat the car, but didn't know what it was - late model Ford or Holden, then suddenly a few posts later the thing is a blue XR6T.

Bit of bullshit flowing I think, he probably flogged an N/A XR6.

They don't know what the word 'stock' means
They don't know what cars they are actually 'flogging'
They don't know if they think we are di*kheads or respect us (seems to depend on what the previous person wrote??!!)

I find that a lot of cars (including the rex's) just don't want to challenge the XRT ... perhaps they just accept the T is quicker and would rather be 'polishing' up on their driving skills!!!

I'm always up to a challenge - sometimes I win, and sometimes the other car is quicker - that certainly doesn't make the other car crap. You will never win all of the time - if you can't accept that then don't take anybody on!
Thanks for posting that thread - it was interesting and got me smiling!!

Interesting read.

Thing is how would they know they raced an XR6T when it flies past in a blurr, remember the only identifier from a N/A is that tiny writing "turbo". No ones eye sight is that good.

Based on this could be N/As for all they know.

Scope out my '80 XD Fairmont Ghia 351 V8 in the gallery!
