i jsut picked my mk1 xrt ute today from a service in which they informed me they did the ecu upgrade and its now going faster than before? wats going on?

you might have a smoother torque curve... feels faster but it doesnt have to be.

all cars feel faster and better after a service

Probably because of the bad press they be recieving regarding the PCM reflash of late... Everyone says it goes slower with the flash than b4, so if they tell you otherwise, then it must be true..

reverse psycology at it's best..

they didnt tell me its going faster it is faster im stating to walk away from one of my mates that has a wrx were as we used to be neck and neck and my car breaks traction alot more now(not cause of a heavier right foot)

My car went harder after its 15,000km service, it didn't make any more peak power but it certainly got there it a much more linear fashion with a real hard rush right at the end.

Ofcourse now its got more everywhere and I go hunting LS2s LOL
