why did you guys n gals buy the XR6 Turbo over the XR8?

I personally want the 6 because ive owned i6T before and they are so smooth to drive. Power is delivered smoothly and right when you need it, especially when the boost is wound up!

So let us all know you you chose the 6... i love the look of the Bulge and the sound of the 8, but the bulge could always be put on a 6 and nothing beats the sound of a spooling turbo

Why pay $5000 extra for a car that uses more petrol and is no faster?

I thought I'd miss the sound of a V8, but that strong turbo surge and the subtle blow off valve flutter, is more than adequate compensation.

I wanted a quick car and the $5K I saved on buying an XR6T instead of the XR8 I put toward the APS Stage 2 kit.

Therefore, for the same cost as an XR8 and say a complete aftermarket exhaust system, I have an XR6T that runs mid 12's over the quarter, handles better and probably uses less fuel than the XR8.

It's all about the numbers.

I do miss the sound of the V8, but oh how I love the sound of that turbo spooling up!

I got the XR6T over the XR8 because of price. If Ford didnt make the XR6T, and only had XR6 and XR8 like before, i wouldn't have bought a new Falcon.

I've never been a V8 person, though I do love the sound of the Ford 8.

But then, it's a lot of money to pay for an exhaust note. The XR6T is quicker and more of a rush to drive, that was my reason.
