Ahh yes but if ford see u take your F6 on the track they void your warranty,if you mod it they void your warranty if you drive it in a performance matter (Ie) Do burnouts they void your warranty phhh Its not like the days of the GTHO they know now exactly how the cars been treated via the ECU.So why buy an F6 and lose your warranty when with the same money you can buy an XR6T mod it and with the money left if something breaks use the oney u saved by not buying an F6 to repair it. And still go faster than the F6.

lol, Stang I think you lost me there mate! My head is still spinning
The point I am trying to make is you can buy an F6, which will have many enhanced factory features over an XR6T and potentially faster performance that stage 1 variant, without modifying the car i.e no voiding of any warranty for the same, if not more enjoyment.
Now on the other hand if you want to modify the car and forget your warranty, I think the F6 offers a better base to do this than an XR6T if you can afford one that is. If not the XR6T is the next best option.
mate whts the point of buying an F6 with more power when the moment u take it on the track Ford void your warranty, thats my point if u actually want to use the extra power.

Talk to the owner who ford cancelled the warranty of the GT he has because he had been driving it on the track.

Ok I understand where you are comming from, but i think this is a whole new topic of discussion. I would definetly consider an F6 still as I have little interest in racing it on a track. Just daily enjoyment is what I, and many others I imagine would be after.
CDAA:
i beg to differ! the 0-100 times for the turbo far outdo the xr8 on any test, and at most dragstrips that have been recorded. and the pulling power is alot stronger all throughout the rev range in the turbo.
Thanks for your understanding but a comparison would be why have a gorgeous babe at home when she doesnt let you bonk her.Ie If you cant drive it the way its meant to be driven (you cant race it on the public roads so the track is where you would get real enjoyment)It sort of washes away a bit of the point of it being an F6, GT,XR6T or even an XR8. Had I have known in advance maybe I would have just bought the XR6 NA. If you want to just drive it as a daily driver I find it hard to justify as you may as well by an XR6 na for half the price of an F6 as you wont be needing the extra kilowatts. In the end we all by cars for different reasons.

Interesting Stang.
Each to their own, but if looked at it your way I don't think I would bother with any kind of performance car. A little sad don't ya think? I get alot of enjoyment from my XR8 now and it has never seen a track.

Ahhh, but Vemon, beg you will! Ok time taken from MOTOR
0-110km/h
XR6T - 7.42
XR8 - 7.32
0-80km/h
XR6T - 4.48
XR8 - 4.43
Surprised? Well I admit that the T was faster at various other speeds than the 8 including the 400m (14.23 vs 14.37), but in stock form it's bloody close, not nearly the white wash that many of you have described. Added the other benefits you get for your 6k and I would say its down to your own driving priorities.
Aren't we all so lucky that Ford have given us such great choices in the first place.
That maybe well & true CDAA but the last time i saw a torque curve that flat ,I was looking at kylie minogue's chest
Now thats flat
lol. we'll I can't argue with that! But have you seen her butt??
hey, your distracting me..
Now please note that it is not my intension to either a) justify my purchase or b) claim that the XR8 is better or worse than a XR6T. This has been well and truly covered by others on this forum, magazines, press etc. What I am trying to point out is they both are great cars and have different qualities to offer. The XR8 is definitely not that far behind the T in any respects of performance, and offers some qualities that many including me, could not find in the XR6T. If you don’t value these qualities like I do, the XR6T is definitely the car to go for...or even better the F6 when it comes available.
