XR Diff problems - Ford Forums

Hi All

Am new to ford forums and after reading thought I would ask a question.
Has anyone experienced problems with diff chattering when at slow speeds whilst turning full lock on steering wheel?? Also I have read about people getting diff replacements is this due to that nasty thump in the rear end or other problems?? I have had the turbo back at binks ford in Melbourne about ten times and it is like talking to a brick wall. They are now going to put an additive in the diff to stop the chattering ( Has any one had this done?) If anyone knows how to stop the thump I would appreciate it. Also are there any dealers in Melb. that I can take the car to that are going to listen

Yes it is an lsd its a turbo they come standard... so do all the problems with my ford!!! It is also a T5

What Tornado means to say is you have a Limited slip diff. There for you when drive slowly at full lock one wheel will spin a little bit and will cause a chatter (the tyre is doing the chatter . Not the diff).
Dont worry this is normaly for diff with a LSD exspecialy if they are new or just rebuilt.

it is 50000 ks old and has only been doing it for passed 5000 ks

Mines 12,000kms old and I have no idea how long its been doing it.
