For those thinking of overboosting ....fuel can be your limiting factor. You need some good octane ratings if you want to get into higher boost levels.

The Audi S4 is now second (maybe thats why they made the RS4 wagon).

Sorry - have to disagree with you there about the worlds most advanced 6 cyl engine comment. I think the BMW M3 with it's 3.2L good for 252 KW (or more in the CSL) and able to rev to 9000 RPM takes the cake for that one - especially given that it doesn't have a hair dryer attached.

Of course, given that it's $100K more, the XR6T definitely has the most advanced engine for it's price bracket and is up their with the world's best from the sound of things - being an I6 also means it belongs to a select group of engines. I'm looking forward to having one in my garage.

the fact that you can even compare the Barra i6, not just to BMW, but to the M3 shows how great the barra engine is. read the editorial in wheels or goauto as they to praise the barra i6 engine.

good times ahead for ford, but holden still has a good product, marketing, a large customer base and momentum. saw my firstt VY holden (calais) and it ain't as bad as everyone says. even the test by the age didn't seem that strongly in favour of the falcon. don't get carried away, the falcon will do well but will not do to the VY what the VT/VX did to the AU.

can't wait for the test by goauto on the XR6T tomorrow, but waiting for the XR8 even more.

Also saw my first focus today on Albany highway, Vic Park WA at 7.50am. looked nice and bigger than i thought. it was a 5 door. have they started selling them because it had standard rego (ie no dealer plates) and some middle age guy driving it.
