perhap you can get a discount on the car for no drivetrain warrantee, then mod away with the savings. 3 year warrantee has got to be worth some discount.

figures that should see the XR8 accelerate to 100km/h in less than 14 seconds.
Anyone notice that? Gee I would HOPE that the XR8 could accelerate to 100 kays in less than 14 seconds, howabout taking another 8 seconds off that? If however it can do a 400 metre run in less than 14 seconds, then I would be a happy man.

Also read they said the engine is all-alloy? I thought it was the triton 5.4L Cast iron block with alloy mustang heads. Anyone know the exact specs?

Sorry to go off on a tangent but I wanted to quote what was said in that site about which manual would be sued on the 240T. Seems strange they would still use the T5 for the Turbo motor when it produces more torque than the 220kw V8. Will also be dissapointing for poeple who want to mod the thing as the T5 is about at it's limits in terms of how much torque it can handle.

Quote:
Meanwhile, all manual V8 Barra models will employ the Tremec 3650 five-speed as seen in the 250kW T3, while all six-cylinder engines - including the 240T - will be mated to Falcon's current T5 five-speed manual.

Errrmm....are you sure? How come in the photos of the T engine, there is no intercooler hose routing? The intake hose goes from the airbox, to the big silver snail, then to the intake manifold. I dont see it being routed to an intercooler anywhere in that sequence!

we all see that, but in other photos and on the newfalcon.com wesbite it states the XR6t will be intercooled, so maybe those photos of the engine we saw were not the real engine photos, or maybe its a fairmont turbo which has no cooler.

and thank god its only 6psi, were not going to have poofy BOV's on falcons annoying everyone, 6psi isnt enough to warrant the use of a bov, and if one is used, will not be capable of producing a loud noise anyhow.

HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!!

Don't forget the new Falc is drive by wire, a new ECU would have to cater for this (not many DBW ECU's around) as would the piggy back mods

I dont think that the anti tampering devices will be that difficult to disable, its more the fact that Ford will know that the car has been modded thats the important thing (and maybe this is what they mean?), not to stop people from doing so.

yeah, 1 to 2 months if that to start modding the boost, less than 6 months for a sub 12, and 9 months for a sub 11!

Also i guess they would be speed limited too, itd easy do 240 to 250km/h with that beaut spread of torque, so if you had 350kw!!?!!!
