Really I was just trying to point out that cooling of engine parts as such isn't the reason for intercooling without trying to sound too techno.
But isnt the reaosn why preignition or detonation occur becasue the engine is actually cold?

Nope. Detonation occurs because the hot air ignites the mixture before the spark.

I dont think you will have any problem modifying them at all, one thing to think about though, will the block be able to take higher boost levels, it allready produces a large ammount of power upping the boost by 10psi would increase the power significantly can the standard block take 400kw?

Ohh and there is one mod i dont wish to see on XR6T's, big G-reddy, apexi, blitz or any other ricey stickers all over the cars, they look good dont ruin em. The last thing we need is ford rice.

Theres a few Turbo Falcons getting around running over 20Psi with the standard block.

20-25Psi on a BA engine should be making an insane amount of power.....
