Not an owner, but I know a couple of owners. The noise is minimal - IMO, that's the way it should be. Loud noise is reserved for w@nkers who are all show (and noise) and no go.

It has a wategate that you can hear flutter when the accelerator is let go at about 4500 rpm (near max boost), sounds wild. Ours is auto by the way. From the outside you can hear it very well, sounds like something a bit special!
A quick test for you .
With your dick stuck in your ear , drive around with the windows up . If you can hear it , that means its at the right level for you.
Now wind the windows down , drive everywhere , and let people know how much of a dick you really are.

Back to the topic of this thread...
I'm not mechanically minded so I'm just going by what I've read. The XR6T does have a blow off valve, but it doesn't vent the air into the atmosphere. Rather it vents the air back into the intake (not sure on this sentence, someone correct me if I'm wrong). It definitely doesn't make the loud "sneezing" noise of other turbos.

If u want to hear the turbo get a K&N Air Filter... On my R33 Skyline when its over 2500rpm u can hear the turbo well, even the pedestrians turn around and look. So when i let go of the pedal, it makes a Whooooosshh Sound, Sounds prettie loud.. But if u want something more louder, a BOV is the way to go... Like i mean if u have a turbo car, why not let people know that its a turbo?
