Hi all,

Was wondering why nobody else picked this up in the R7 thread (now moved to the pub) so I thought I would copy Richo's post into here to open it up for discussion.

I have heard from Ford dealers that this figure of 240KW seems to be accurate.

It would be nice - but I still reckon it will be 210kw for the Turbo and 240kw for the V8.

Unless the BA has really tubbed out and the need the extra horsies.

Sounds gooood to me. The more power the better, and if the XR6T is 240kw, that means that the XR8 would be at least 270!!!!!!!!! SWEET AS!!!!!!

I reckon XR6T to be ~220-230kw. I can't see it being above that. They need to let the next models grow in power a tad..

I'd like to see Ford under rate its XR's power figures for a change. Say 210kw for the turbo but actually be 240kw, and 230kw for the V8 but actually be about 260kw. This would suprise a few people, journo's and the public alike, in a good way:s6: . There's allready been speculation about the turbo being able to produce big power (280/290kw or whatever), and we know that the 5.4 can also put out some big numbers of its own (285kw or something from the Mustang Cobra R (under rated)).

Hi Guys......

Trust me, 240kw for the XR6 Turbo, Mate tells me that Wheels took 2 of them for drive testing drive this week.

And re the V8's, XR8 will be at least 260kw!! (It was at last report anyway) but expect more so that Ford can maintain a performance advantage for the V8.

Reports are that they are pretty stoked at Ford that their I6 Turbo is putting out more power than the new SS (235kw). Have to admit that as a Ford fan I'm damb happy too!!!

after my discussion today (see http://discussions.fordforums.com/sh...threadid=22816) FM is the closest to the official spec, it wont have 240kw apparently...
