Going back a few posts, how about an XY GT shaker on a BA GT (through the bulge)? Joking, but I bet someone will do it! See the H.O. shaker thing for example, how long till this evolves a bit?
Already seen a Phantom XR8 ute getting around the Frankston/ Mornington area with this. Spoke to a salesman at the dealership down here (saw it driving out of the service area) and he said at the moment it was cosmetic, but the owner was planning to plumb the air intake to it. I know nothing about under the bonnet, so I don't know what advantage this would have if any, but that is supposed to be the plan...
next we'll be talking about sticking a red 8 where the 6 was because it looks good... absolute rice ...

Those who do these type of mods only become members of the "poser/wanker club"
Both these comments point to the fact that most people who are against this seem to think that XR6T owners want people to think they own an XR8. Well guess what - WE DON'T!
I own an XR6T and if it wasn't for the expense I'd put an XR8 bonnet because I LIKE IT - not because I want to pretend to be something else. It's not like buying an XY GS, slapping on a shaker and some stripes/blackouts and pretending its something its not.
The wankers here are those that assume XR6 owners really want an XR8.
And this line of thinking that any cosmetic changes to a car are 'RICE' is an absolute joke. Ever heard of individuality you SHEEP?
Am I allowed to put mags on my car? As they are non factory and only of cosmetic benefit are these RICE or has the self appointed ethics commitee deemed this to be okay?
If your argument is that you want to keep this bonnet exclusive to the models it came with then your comment is valid but the rice comments are ridiculous.
.....these comments point to the fact that most people who are against this seem to think that XR6T owners want people to think they own an XR8. Well guess what - WE DON'T!.......
"fact" ...."we" .... generalizing aside;
the better half and I drive XRTs and we don't want bulges in our bonnets nor do we want XR8s ... thats why we bought XRTs !!!
if I put a bulge on an XRT then I would be mocking the bulge on the Mustang ....
so yeah IMO absolute rice, nothing more - nothing less
but having said that .... that is my opinion,
sixpack and others have their opinions .... that's cool ... and there is nothing that can stop me from thinking it is "absolute rice"
cheers
ps.... agree with wheels being the only exception

ED XR6 sedan for sale, manual, 145,000kays, green, stock standard. Good condition.
Any offer considered.
Now driving a 04 BA XR8 Manual Envi ute. Mods to come...
Wheels are an exception becasue they still perform the same function, but in most cases that slight bit better. Sure they may add some unsprung mass, but I tell you what going an extra inch wider has helped traction for me.
Now obviously the biggest reason why you put different wheels on is for it to look better. And I guess that's why you would want to put a bonet bulge on your car that's not BOSS V8 equipped.
The fact is though wheels personalise your car. There are so many different wheels out there on the market available. Can't say the same about bonet bulges.
