XR6T Intercooler

The XR6T isn't coming out with an intercooler is it?
If it isnt, it should be an option. How cool would a PHAT cooler hanging from the front look :) .
Also what size turbo is it getting? T03/04 ?
Cheers.

Jas

Actually I just had an even better idea, instead of having the cooler front mounted, have it top mounted, with a power bulge bonnet and a wicked shaker style scoop to duct air over the cooler.
Hell yeah! :)
If someone could photoshop this it would be sweet.
Suggestions?

/me goes back to bed.

top mounted?? um no..
Front mount intercooler and I believe they do come with one.
front mounts get better flow.
Plus the falcon has heaps of room under the front bar for a decent cooler

"The XR6 Turbo offers adrenalin boosted performance from the Barra 240T. The 4.0 Litre in-line six is intercooled and raises power to 240kw, with maximum torque to a massive 450nm." (www.newfalcon.com.au)

The intercooler is mounted in the front air dam, and is pretty small (length of a numberplate), but obviously effective...

At it's a Garrett GT40 ball bearing turbocharger.

I still can't believe they stuck such a big-arse turbo on it - no need for hi-flows/aftermarket units here by the looks. A GT40 should flow some big horsepower (about 700HP) unlike crap T3's found on VL turbo's. Tuning potential for this car will be enormous!!

450Nm of torque from 2000 rpm onwards. That's why it's such a big mutha torbo. Don't know about you guys, but it looks like the 1) the XR6 exhaust manifold is same as the normal manifold with turbo bolted at collecter
2) turbine housing is kind of small (hence the no lag claim I guess), but I reckon the wastegate would be open for a big chunk of the rev range to get this type of linear power output.

Unless the anti tampering software is realy good, there will be easy upgrades from day 1. Airbox looks pretty nice on BA as well. Big chunky pipe to TB.
