According to Jake, raising the boost was creating a substancial amount of pressure in the fuel pump, and he was a little concerned for the life of it.
Valve springs and the fact that the injectors are running at about 97% capacity are two reasons its limited, the other was a really inconsistant boost level if we wound it up too much.
Its really a smooth powerful car to drive, and i dont feel when i give it a bit of stick that its upsetting the engine as much as it would feel if i was run it at its limit.
My girlfriend loves the car, but hates the fact that all i wanna do now is drive it!

That seems a little high for you injector cycle - it really shouldn't be pushed over 85% duty cycle. Did they leave it at 97%? If they did there is a good chance in summer time that you'll run lean. Sounds a bit odd to me
He said he pushed them to the limit then had to wind them back down cause it was surging too much. There not up there now, back about 85%.
He also asked me to take it back in a few weeks when he has had more time to learn about the edit and he will re-tune it for free. More than fair, considering i was his guinea pig!

1st post - 195rwkw
10th post - valve springs limit boost to under 10.5psi

You do mean winter? Colder, denser air.
I'm sure the custom tune in the vehicle has taken the changing conditions into consideration and the lower boost levels will assist with this.
I haven't had the custom tune done yet, and will hold off until the new intercooler and injectors are fitted. That will provide consistency during the warmer months, and safe A/F ratios in winter.
BTW, too lazy to read the other pages, but thanks for the info.

Ok - if the standard box comes with a tune that pushes your injectors to 97% duty cycle... I think I will wait for APS. No wonder the unichip boys all scoff at the edit without a custom tune. Thats just plain suicide!
In summer you run leaner and hence get detonation. You need more fuel in cool the pistons down in summer, if your injectors are at 97% then there is no way they will do their job!
Its different to winter where more air means more fuel, but the cylinder temps aren't anywhere near as high and all you'll get is a boost cut instead.
I never said the capa standard tune ran the injectors at 97%, i said we pushed them up to that doing testing. Like i said before, my car did 27 dyno runs that day under all sorts of circumstances and varying modified parameters. It was pushed up to gain data results for future reference.
The result i have now, while not as high in RWKW as the capa tune, has much more usable power at the lower end and a very consistant boost line when compared to the capa results.
On the road, and from a standing start, I'd even go as far as saying that the tune i have now is much more smoother than the capa one.
Im absolutely stoked at the results and the drive of the car!
