i'm no car mod person so this may sound a bit stupid
I beleive that the XR6T was detuned to 240kW as Ford Aus did not want it shitting all over the XR8
Originally posted by Ford Grunt agreed. i heard (or read) that Ford deliberly keep boost to what it is because the current gearbox couldnt handle much more boost.
But if its possible to up the boost & keep the stock box without straining the box into destruction than sh*t that is exciting.
It's still too early too tell. The gearbox might last a year or maybe 18 months or even two years and then finally die where as a stock gearbox should be good for at least ten years.

hate to state the obvious, but any time you mod an engine to increase its power output it will put more strain on the drivetrain and decrease normal service life...just happens that some cars have a higher 'safety margin' than others...

how much power do you speed demons want???
Im still getting used to 240KW even while still running in. I have sometimes forgotten this and pushed the turbo real hard. BAD BOY...lol
Biggest problem is that everyone stares at the xr6, especially in phantom and blueprint--still lifes hard!
