Most people thrash it badly and they all bring out blue smoke now.Do not underestimate a new XR6T, what do u say esky?any good uns recently???come on mate get out there and smoke some GTRs for us:)
I haven't run against GTRs, but I did against GTS.

No runs recently, as im in LA. But before i left i beat a WRX STi 02, and a new SS. The SS was no drama, my XR just pulled away mid range. The WRX was more pleasing. WRX jumped me, but i had him by 2nd and pulled ahead going into 3rd. And it just kept pulling.
The GTR is out of the XR6T league in stock trim. And really, the GTR is easier to get more power out of it. My friend owns a 12.5sec GTR. Stock apart from the 14psi boost. It wont be long before the tuners get hold of an XR6T and boost it's nuts off. Then the party will start.
But lets face it, street credability is worth more than a 1/4mile time. And the XR6T has bucket loads of it. Even my wife gets asked to lift the bonnet at petrol stations.
Sure a GTR will chop me, but we all know what car is 'sex on wheels'!!!
How does the XR6-T feel against the Toyota Chaser you have? I'd like some details and comments in contrast to both.

The Chaser feels a little lagier. Considering the XR has little lag.
The mid range of the chaser feels fatter, but that's only because the bottom and top end aren't as strong as the XR.
XR feels alot bigger. Partly as im getting use to the size, where as i was familiar with the chasers size.
The XR is a generation ahead of the chaser. A much stronger package. I drove up to the blue Mt, and the XR just chewed up the road. Where as the Chaser didn't handle as well.
Fuel is about the same when driving around, although the chaser went through a little more when hammering.
Overall the XR is a complete package. And for the price, there is nothing that can compete. The chaser is a great car in a straight line, but throw in some corners and you see the difference.
When i get back from the States, i would like to hook up with the XR club or something like that. XR_Strider_GuY im sure you could direct me to the right people.

esky
Holey $hit! this STI absolutely destroyed my clubsport. It made me feel as if I'm standstill. If your XR6T can catch and beat an STI, I have no doubt it can give the GTR a very good run:)Good stuff pal, I just hope u take it easy on the engine when u come back. At least for the very first 1500km.
I woudn't worry much about GTR specially modded ones. Do you have any clue how your T would be with 14psi boost mods??scary..
Damn esky, you got a very nice car there! damn you're the first one in the forum to own it:S2:. Come back soon and kick some serious ar$es here..
and ive seen a r32 run a 12.9 on a video.. 100% stock
sure if u dont dump it huge u loose a bit of time.. but ur not going to be munched by a xr6t. sorry buddy
u raced a gts-t skyline with a gtr kit.

the xr6 is out of the gtr league.. get it right. a race car vs a fastish sedan. bunggggggg.
the only thing your beating is your meat if you think the two cars compare.
Originally posted by vsboy on the one hand we have a ground up RACE car, vs a family car with a go fast engine.. i know which one i'd choose.
Yep your right the sedan is the better choice The Ford Turbo once played with mildly will be a fast car and you still have enough room to throw things in the back no problem.
I imagine if the GTR owner left from idle, then he'd be the one seeing XR6T tail lights. But if he did a 7000Rpm clutch dump.....
The day that a GTR could run a 12.9 would be the same day an XR6T could run a 13.5.
The difference between the 2 wouldnt be all that much in a straight line, equal drivers the GTR would win, but anything can happen on the street, and usually does....
Dont forget the XR6T has 450Nm at 2500Rpm, the GTR doesnt even have that much at peak.

a toy car, who gives a shit about luggage space when ur only carryin round your golfclubs?
and a everyday car.
but i dont think you should compare em
the gtr is groundup race car which is going to crap on the xr6 in a straight line AND what happens when u get to a corner? it just demolishes.
