Just wondering if anyone has thought about where Ford stands in relation to warranty claims for the turbo,my local dealer has said that any mods will void warranty including exhaust or aircleaner which could lead to some expensive repair bills for some customers.

I think it might depend on your relationship with the dealer. I know I've had warrenty issues fixed that on first appearances could be argued that shouldn't be covered as I had certain mods. But after having a chat with the service manager they have been covered.

On the other hand, if a problem was directly related to a modification I had made, I wouldn't even bother trying to get it covered.

If your prepared to mod your car, be prepared to cover costs if things go wrong.

Read your owners handbook. It specifically says some mods do not void the warranty. I read it as saying an exhaust is okay, however you lose any warranty related to exhaust components if you do the mod.

I find common sense applies.
