G'Day Guys and Girls.
Im after 3 Turbo badges for my XR6T (no, its hasnt been badged).
My questions are:
∙ Can you just buy the "Turbo" bit, or do you have to get the lot ("XR6 Turbo")
∙ Can I buys them from Ford?
∙ If I can, how much do these cost to buy from Ford?
try www.rarespares.com i think thats the website. a FPV badge is about $40 from ford and you should be able to buy the turbo badges from ford too. dont know if you can just get the turbo bit or not though. just tryed the link and thats not it but someone here knows as i looked from their link.
Its not going to stop me buying them. :wnc:
Im going to do what Ford should have done and have TURBO under XR6 on the side skirts. Also im going to have TURBO as a grill badge, thats why i need 3 of the suckers.
Ohwell...
Well, i just think from the side, it could be just an XR6. It needs "Turbo" like the back of the car. Same as from the front. I think a turbo badge will look good...
Yeh, i will. The grill badge will be hard-ish. Im off to Bunnings in the morning to see what i can find (e.g. flat, thin black plastic to mount letters) and a way to attach the lot to the grill. It will not look shit. I'll make sure of that. :wnc:

The entire badge from the rear of the car, inluding the XR6 bit (you can't get Turbo by itself) is only $46 from Ford. That's what my local dealer wants anyway.
I am going to add the word "Turbo" below the front qtr indicator lenses.

You could use 3M double sided tape and put the letters directly on the grill - use a spirit level to line them up straight. I think they would be large enough to provide enough surface to hold as the 3M stuff is pretty strong.
Shit thats a mental price for a badge, I can see why Mercedes drivers get pissed off when losers steal the Bonnet ornament, That would probably cost even more.
On that subject those bonnect ornaments you see on VY Commodore's look so stupid, I dont think they suit the car at all
I have a Lightning Strike XR6T and wouldn't mind having the black style T U R B O badge on the back for something different. Are these harder to find and more expensive than the 'stock' red badge?

Im making up a tricky little badge mount for the grill. Its hard to explain, but when its done i'll throw up some photos of it with the grill off so you can see the back. The letters will be mounted to a piece of black plastic, that will be as long as the badge and as high. The bottom of the badge mount has a piece coming out at right angle, that will go through a grill opening. There will be thin rubber between the front piece and the grill. The piece of plastic that comes out at right angles will have another piece of "L" shaped plastic that will be crewed to the main mount to clamp the lot to the grill. May sounds confusing but when its done, and i put up some pics, it will be easier to understand......trust me.
