Kelsey Wheels

We are at present restoring a T Ton Truck as a Hucks starter and have a problem with the 20" Kelsey wheels, all the 'experts' tell us the rims are held to the wheel by bolt/clamp which pushes rim against taper on wheel, but we think there is something missing, looking at parts list and doing a lot of head scratching we believe there may be a sepperate ring that the clamps act on, anyone got any info? By the way heres a link to one we made earlier Skysportengineering Videos

Re: Kelsey Wheels

Bit of brain fade there, it should read 23" kelsey wheels not 20".

Re: Kelsey Wheels

hi yes there is a steel ring i have one for a truck i am biulding i will need to make a nuther one and get or make the wooden spokes.
the origonal ring is not round it is six sided measres 3/8 high and 7/16 wide i think ill make a pair of them out of 3/8 round bar and braze 3 or 4 small bits of flat to sit against the rim

Re: Kelsey Wheels

We have been in touch with a lot of people and have had no luck sourcing these rings, there may be similier one's used on other period vehicles, we will proboly be looking at adapting these to suit if we cannot get original one's
