my 64 just got on the road took it for a test drive road the block 2 or 3 times and when i got back the antifreeze was boiling out of the overflow. took off radiator and got it flushed but that wasnt the problem. how do i check if the water pump is good ? any ideas about what else might be the problem?
Is the thermostat opening? If you look inside the radiator as it warms up, as soon as the upper radiator hose gets hot, you'll see flow in the radiator.
wheres the thermostat at? i looked in it before and i couldnt tell if the fluid was moving or if it was just the car shaking. so is that prob a sign its not?
It's under the housing where the upper radiator hose connects to the intake. Best thing to do is just replace it, that's probably whats wrong. Should be 10 bucks or less.
