It varied from season to season....the 'pilot' episode '75 Gran Torinos came with 351 Windsors. When the show was picked up, the producers ordered two new '75 Torinos and they came with 400s. For the second season, three '76 Torinos were ordered and were powered by 460s; they were used until "Starsky & Hutch" was cancelled. All three '76s are in private hands; no one knows what happened to the '75s. As a side note, the only mods that the Torinos had were lower rear gears installed by the producers' mechanics(for better acceleration for stunt scenes); the engine sounds were dubbed in.

Re: 70's Torino

Guess I need to add my 75 Cents - I am a proud SECOND owner of my 1975 S&H Torino -(Original 75000 miles) I Found it in a garage in Oklahoma - as soon as I brought it home i pulled the motor and rebuilt everything - spiced up the cam a bit and she now has 4400 miles - running like new....

351 Windsor - 2.5 Exhaust 2 Chamber Flow Master - Red Beacon - Motorola Police Radio and Siren are the added touches...
