glass question

Any thoughts as to if glass can 'take a set' or permanent bend if stressed for a long time? I got a replacement window from a '66 galaxie, and curvature is way wrong- about 1/4 inch too high at the center. Either my car is bent 'flat' (never wrecked, but unbroken/rusty frame replaced) or the donor car(broken frame) was bent in from the side curving the glass...I think if it sat in a bent car long enough(10-20 years) it would gradually take that shape. have talked to several people, they say no way. what do you think?
Got it in, extra thick sealant at center, and had to twist the trim, but unless you were looking for it, wouldnt notice...the glass question still makes me wonder if problem is my car or not.
