Come on Fairlane Guys/Girls

So far on this site of 7 threads I have counted 2 ZC's, 2 ZD's, 1 ZF and 1 ZH, 1 US 67 Conv, and 1 66 Can. 66 H/top, AND a 69 Torino GT, so we have 8 Fairlanes & ! Torino between us, from Australia to Africa, there must be more owners out there, specially the Oz ones, lets get things moving here and show the other 'Ford Cars' what the Z series is made of.

OK count me in
I have a ZH Fairlane
I'm about to get rid of the vinyl roof and repray the roof (after the rust is taken out)
I'll send pictures when done
BTW do the E series alloy wheels fit OK?
Cheers
Ian

ZH owner here aswell

I've got a few things planned - next is to fully renew the suspension, later on I'll drop a reconditioned 351 in (302 up front at the moment)

and maybe a full respray, if I can convince the missus...

Re: Come on Fairlane Guys/Girls

Don't know about the E series wheels, I know that the ZF's rims fitted the mustang perfectly [LOL], but that is a long story.
Hypo, that ZH of yours looks cool, the interior looks great as well. What colour are you going to respray it?

Im pretty sure E series rims will fit a ZH, just call your local tyre shop, they should know for sure
Ive seen an XB with EF XR6 alloys before, looked good.
Which alloys are you thinking of fitting eon?

I'll be spraying my car the same original Ford Midnight Blue
The paint might look good in the pic , but it's faded a fair bit over the years

Thanks Hypo
The interior of your ZH sure looks a treat.
Is your's a 76 or 77?
What happened to the bonnet pedestrian aiming badge?
My driver's seat is now coming apart at the stiching, it seems to get worse on cold mornings when the vinyl is not so subtle.
I'm not sure what alloys to get, possible some E series Fairmont.
I don't want to spend heaps on new stuff which doesn't suit the Fairlane anyway.
Mine has chrome wheels that haven't responded well to polishing and they are very heavy.

Cheers
Ian

And another thing Hypo......
I notice that your rear suspension has sagged a bet (they all do)
So you may want to lower the front SLIGHTLY to even it up.

Re: Come on Fairlane Guys/Girls

Yeah, my car had a factory towbar so that dosnt help with the sagging either.
I will be getting the leaf springs reset when I get the suspension done rather than lower the front

My ZH is a '78, although has a pre '78 nosecone for some reason (with the F O R D badging)

not all ZH's came with the bonnet ornament thingy

Have you got any pics of your car Ian? what year is it? 351 or 302? any options?so many questions....
