Galaxy Steering columns...
After having a look at my 'new' '65 Galaxy's steering column it would appear i'm in trouble. Please forgive me if I use the wrong terminology here!
The threaded end of the steering column where there would normally be a nut holding the steering wheel on has been crossthreaded and completely chewed out, holding the steering wheel in place is a nail hammered through a hole (not sure if they drilled it themselves or if its factory).
What can I do with this? Am i best to take the whole lot out and have the end re-threaded and get a nut to suit? Is it rooted and if so.... who makes an aftermarket column for a decent price?
Thanks,
Greg
