56Fairlane

Hey folks,

as stated in my introduction thread in the "introduce yourself" section. I recently aquired a 56 fairlane. The car is in rough shape but not falling apart. I think it will run with some TLC and a good tune up. After that Ill run new brake lines, stuff like that and make it safe to drive.

What I am looking for is where to buy stuff for this car? Surprisingly , it does NOT need chrome trim parts. They are in good shape. I need interior mostly, and probably stuff like a water pump and all. Is there a place that specializes in these cars?

the car has the thunderbird 312 V8, is that the same block as a 302 or 289? It looks pretty different so I'm assuming no.

There are places that specialise in those cars. I think there is a place in Cal called Carpenters. The 312 is a Y Block, nothing in common with a small block. What body style is it? I like the Victoria. Friend of mine here in Australia has a 56 Crown Victoria, the one with a Tiara.

Thanks for the info.. it looks similar to the Crown Vic.. just a different trim package

check out the dennis carpenter website and they will give you a free catalog. they do really well with interior parts and fabrics. www.dennis-carpenter.com. Also try Auto Krafters and Macs Antique Auto Parts. All of these sites will send you a free catalog that will help out a lot!
