Hey guys, i'm a big fan of fairlanes. especially the zc. I think it's the best car ford ever produced (my opinion any way). I've only owned 3 cars in total and 2 have been zc's. here's a links to some pics of my pride and joy. My current fairlane is soon due for a rebuilt of the original motor and then she'll be stomping! 347 with roller cam and straight gas! I can't wait!
We've got a ZD Fairlane that is going to be restored, one of these days, bought her for next to nothing from someone who only wanted the engine and gearbox, we could not bear to see the rest of the car thrashed so hauled it off home to join the 66 Fairlane 500 that is in a similar state, bought from the same guy, both for the equivalent of about Aus$160 and Aus$100. There is currently a '74 Fairlane 500 sitting at his place that he is trying to get us to take, no motor/gearbox but everything else is still there, not sure what to do tho', he wants about Aus$500 for this one. Beginning to think we have the local branch of the SPCCC at home [society for the prevention of cruelty to classic cars]
Nice site you have there, when our ZD starts to look a bit better I will send you a couple of pics and maybe a write up on the restoration process.
Have you been to this site, also got some cool info. http://mang02.freeyellow.com/Fairlane/ozZD.htm
i just checked out that site. some good stuff there. I'm hoping to update my webpage soon, i haven't touched it for quite a while. i'll also add some pics of when i get my new engine done.
More Fairlane fans! I call them the forgotten Ford's. I have a ZC, ZD and a US '67 convertable.
Gotta luv 'em.
I'm building a bit of a site for Fairlane info too, there has been so little up till now it's good to see a few others putting their efforts into some Fairlane web resources.
My site's "under construction" too, but have a look anyway.
Those with sites, would you mind me including links to them? Likewise, feel free to link mine.
Well I got the ZG, at least I think its a ZG, still have not quite figured out how to decode our Vin No's, there is no info on the web and phoning Ford SA is a waste of time, first time I phoned them they told me the car was old, sell it. :). Anyway I went to Brian's site and checked out the ZG and our one looks the same. So the SPCCC is expanding. So far:-
66 Fairlane 500 [Canadian Build]
69 Falcon XY Ute Straight 6 [221cid]
69 Falcon XY Ute 302
71 Mustang Grande 302
71 ZD Fairlane
72 ZF Fairlane
Other cars in the SPCCC catagory:-
70 Holden Monaro 308
74 VW Kombi 1.8
Other Fords owned:-
70 Mercury Cougar 351C 2V
72 Mercury Cougar 351C 2V
81 Ford Escort 1.6
83 Ford Sierra V6
Also a couple of other cars that are daily drivers for us and the kids.
