I am in the process of setting up a website, mainly featuring our own cars, and I also want to include information about the Australian Fords that were exported to South Africa in CKD form from 1969 to 1974/6. So far I have found absolutely nothing on the internet relating to the SA cars, so I am hoping to fill the void a bit. Trouble is, I can find no information on any site about any Fords exported to SA, its like a black hole, nothing at all.
Believe it or not, I cannot even find information on what the Assembly plant codes are for SA. Ford SA are not much help, I am hoping to get some info from Ford Australia, if anyone has some inside contacts who may be able to help me I would really appreciate it.
I am also hoping to set up a SA registry of the 69-74 cars here in SA. A daunting task as most folks here are not on the internet.

Hey Moby,
Are they all the cars you own or is that just the ones you have pictures of on your bedroom wall?
I can't believe there is no information about.
Aren't some of you guys sending GT Falcons and V8 Capris back to Australia?
What info do you need? There is an article in issue 10 of Australian Muscle Car magazine about the Fairmont GT's sold in SA from '70-'73.
Says that the body prefix for these cars was MS33. The M stands for Australian Export and the S for South African assembled. Final assembly was done at the Port Elizabeth plant. It goes on giving you a good run down on the specs and stuff if you want to know any more
Thanks Guys, Eon, those are the cars we own, most need restoring, soon as we get some time and space, the cougars go tho', and the ranchero's, the rest are in various stages, have just updated the site, so go have a look and see whats diffferent. Thee is no info available on the SA versions of the cars, even Ford SA can't help me, tons of info about the actual Oz ones, but I really need to know if we got them here exactly the same as the Oz ones, or with less options etc. I believe that some guys are selling GT's back to Oz, the V8 Capri Perana's were made here, by Basil Green, trouble with that is, how do you know you are getting a geniune GT, we may be at the as$end of the world technology wise but the con artists are alive and well.
ZH302, can you scan that article and e-mail it to me at moby@moby302.co.za, I would really appreciate it if you could, otherwise, if you can post a copy of it to me, photocopy or whatever, e-mail me and I will send you my snailmail address. Oh Yeah, and I live in Port Elizabeth, and I still can't get any info, LOL.

Reason: more info
However, all comments, opinions, etc expressed by me on this site are my own, my husband hates the computer, has no patience to sit and wait for pages to open etc. Moby's Site is mine as well, all my own work, he just moans about the hours I spend on the pc.
