just wondering if its possible to pick up a great condition zh (maybe marquis)for around 5 grand....also if i spent 5 grand on a zh,what kind of condition would it be in eg:good or great(maybe extras like extractors,wide rims etc)
your opinions would be greatly appreciated,thanx!

They range from $300 to $11,500 (the latter has been for sale in Perth for quite some time now). Money, well depends on what you spend it on. A typical panel and paint these days ranges from 5-10k.

Ultimately there is only one way to found out - go and have a look. Unfortunately, as these cars get older there are less and less still in good nick. Best of luck any way

What Paull says, you never get back what you spend eg. buy a reasonable ZH for 3-4 grand, 2g on rims & tyres, 1g on exhaust, 2g on new interior, 5g on nice panel & paint (not showroom)3g on motor. that makes about 17 grand. That leaves engine mods, suspension, gearbox etc if it's needed.

or

buy a mickey mouse one for 10-12 grand, nice one for 6-7 grand

Don't forget the stereo.

I bought my ZH for 1k and its in good condition, resprayed 7years ago, so paint is alright, engine rebuilt for straight gas 3years ago ... runs great too

Watch out for rust in and around bottoms of doors inside and out.bottoms of guards and quarter panels,around boot rubber and tail lights or suspicious repairs in these areas.Also , beware of moisture stains in front carpet as plenum chamber could be rusted and this is a nightmare and costly repair.Beware of rust under vinyl roof's aswell,it stick's up under the vinyl in bubbles or lumps usually.
