searching for 78 to 79 LTD II

New to the site. Can anyone help me locate a 78 or 79 LTD II with the optional sports appearance package. Preferably black exterior with the red and orange stripes. But will take any color. Fair to excellent running condition prefered. 351 or 302 cubic inch. Will greatly appreciate any help locating one of these. I have been looking for many years.

I'm not exacvtly sure what you are chasing but it doesn't sound like an 78 -79 LTD which is designated the P6 LTD. I've owned both a 78 P6 and 79 P6 Towncars.

The P6 never came out with a 302, and I am pretty sure thet never came out with a sports pack or stripes.

I'm sure you will hear from Paull in a little while who is an authority on the P6 and has one or two of each version of the P6.

Thank you for your response. You can find a picture of the car I'm looking for by typing http://desoto58.com/story/ltd279.jpg in the address bar. This is the exact car I'm looking for.

That bonnet looks like it could fit a 460 and a kitchen sink under it! I'd like to stick to my ZH.

I think some P6's came out with 302's, but they were for the government. I know most Marquis' were 351's but government ones (and other fleet cars I think) were 302's.

Oh I see, sorry about that. The pic you refered to looks good. Good luck finding what you are chasing.

As the saying goes "Only in America". I have seen the occasional LTD/LTD wagon but none of the type you are looking for in Aus.
