Have just been lucky enough to become the owner of a very nice ZD Fairlane and was wondering if anyone could give me some hints as to how best look after the black vinyl roof.

My Vinyl roof help tips

1. Keep it out of the sun and the rain.
2. Always park in a garage.
3. Wash it with a quality car wash cleaner
4. Never put any Armor all or anything else of the like because although it may make it look good for a while they they cause it to dry out and crack.
5. Budget for a new one because whatever you do, they don't last forever and a bad one really detracts from the car even if the rest of the car is good. Mine cost around $400 to do about 4 years ago.

also, keep an eye out for rust bubbles under the vinyl, and repair them as soon as possible, because often the vinyl holds moisture and encourages rust formation. Car sounds really nice, i've always liked ZA-ZD fairlanes, they're so long!!
