ZDDP? Synthetic Oil?

I have recently read a few articles about ZDDP and it's reduction/elimination in motor oil. The articles would lead one to believe that a ZDDP additive should be added to the oil in classic cars. I have a '69 Fairlane with about 70,000 miles on it, and I drive 1500-2000 miles per year. Should I be considering a ZDDP additive? Is there a motor oil which has sufficient levels of ZDDP? Just wondering what the Torino experts have to say
Also, I've heard conflicting information about switching to a synthetic oil in an engine with 70,000 miles. I don't see any problem with a rebuilt engine, but what are your thoughts on switching when the engine has been run 70,000 miles with regular oil? Does switching to synthetic solve the ZDDP issue?
Any input appreciated - Thanks
