I'm new to fairlanes so bear with me. . . .
Mine is a zh, ltd. Did all the ltd's of this model come with a 351?
Can I tell from the from the vin if its a 351?
where the hell is the engine number again? I spent three quarters of an hour trying to find it when I bought it and ended up relying on the rego papers that the body and engine matched? Just hope it hasnt been shaved off!
I want to put 2nd hand extractors on, so what models have the same engine bay? xb or xr or something?

I take you mean yo have a P6 LTD. That is, an LTD made from 1976 through to 1979 with the Rolls Royce grill.

The engine number is on the front left hand side of the block on the vertical side of the timing cover casting. If yo have the AC brackets/compressor still attached, it may be a bit difficult to see. It should be JG71... both on engine and chassis. These numbers should also match the number on the left hand shock tower

Yes, all P6 LTD's had the 5.8 fitted as standard. On the plenum chamber wall you will see two small aluminium plates. On these plats will be the chassis number, vehicle type etc. It will also show engine type being a 'T' which is a 5.8 4V engine witha transmission type being a 'B'. The B denotes floor shift automatic.

With respect to engine bay similarities, all XA - XC and corresponding Fairlanes/LTD's are pretty much the same with extractors in mind.

Hey Jikbo, where are you? I've got an entire exhaust system, Pacemaker headers, in very good condition off my old P6 which are currently sitting at Paulls coincidently enough.

I'm way ova the other side ofthe country, on the gold coast. Other wise I'd be onto those extractors of your's in a flash.

Also, are the p6 ltd 351's Clevos or Windsors??

Now lets see if I can attach these pics. the mags are really old 14" x 10" craigars, on the back and they look awesome, but ya can't really see them in the pics. There is just so much room under the guards!!

Can you give me some more details on your car please Jikbo? The reason that I am asking is I would like to know if your car is a Town Car. These cars were produced from November '78 through to April '79. Although the Town Car badges are not on your car, it is the right colour. Therefore, could you please let me know what month and year your car is as well as what code is given for the paint and trim (found on the top right hande side of the engine bay on two aluminium tags).
