1. Question on 390FE original roundup 1968 - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hallo, my name is Matthias, lives in Bavaria . Germany and I own a 1968 Ford Galaxie500 Fastback (390-4V . Z-Code) since almost 1 year. The car is like a survivor, because of its original paint and all the options which are still in the car (... without any damages or tune ups since 1968).

Unfortunatally the engine is modified in some parts, so I will built them to original finish in winter time.

I do not know about the right finish about some details, so perhaps you have answers or pics of correct details:

- Valve Covers: Chrom or Blue ?
- Air Cleaner: Which snorkel, lid in Chrome or Blue ?
- TAC-System or not ? ... it´s not an San Jose car

Perhaps anybody will give pics to me from an correct Z-Code Galaxie in 1968 ... that will be perfect !

All Ford engines of those years are Ford blue. That includes air breather and valve covers. Unless a chrome engine dress up kit was available and ordered as option.
