1962 M-code galaxie convert

I bought a 1962 M-code galaxie convertable M-code 390-401hp 4spd It has of ton of options power windows, top, seat, skirts, rear antennia, etc. Does anyone know much about these? I am a hardcore chevy guy and need some info? Anyone know anything bout these. I have talked guys on 62 galaxie registry but no one seems to knows much about them.

Re: 1962 M-code galaxie convert

The engine was offered only for the early part of the 1962 model year for the big Fords then it became an option for the Thunderbird line. A 406 in single four-barrel and 3x2-bbl. forms replaced the M-code on the full-size Fords. The T-Birds with the M-code engine were rated at 340 hp@ 5,000 rpm but in the Galaxies it was rated at 401 hp@ 6,000 rpm. The Galaxie version had higher compression - 11.1:1. What is the condition of your car?
