Gday,
I have a ignition switch from a 1966 Galaxie, similar to this one:

I need help with the pinouts/wiring for the ignition switch. Ive been mucking with the wiring in the car so i cant just test the wires to see what they do. In hindsight i should have checked before touching the wiring.

But if anyone can help me with what each terminal does etc etc, it would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps even with a diagram?

Also im in Australia and a workshop manual for this 66 Galaxie is not avaliable, so i would be interested in purchasing one from someone in the US, if they are avaliable there.

The one you need for a 1966 Galaxie is the orange Shop Manual that is titled '1966 Ford And Mercury Shop Manual'.I got a Genuine one of these in excellent condition off there for only about $15.00 USD,but sadly although I asked for Air-Mail...The Duffus sent it by Ground/Sea Mail so it still has'nt arrived.My brother has one for a 1965 Galaxie,I will check that out for you and see if I can find anything...Goodluck !!!

I would love to buy one of those manual you pointed out, but it seems i wouldnt be able to pay them as i have no credit card and such.

I think the 65 Galaxie has the same ignition switch as the 66 model, so yeah if you could look at your brothers manual itd be great.

You might want to check out your local Library, they usually have lots of info on all cars. They usually carry Chiltons Auto Manuals carrying all makes of cars for several years combined. Also you might be able to check out www.galaxieclub.com and go into their links on parts for sale.

I have a 1965 Ford Galaxie Ute rusting away in the Backyard[Ex-Ambulance] and I pulled out the Ignition Switch and had a look.So what exactly do you need to know !!!

No chance my library will have a galaxie manual, as im in Australia.

Well im after the wiring diagram for it, or what each tab does, etc. Unfortunatley each tab isnt labelled on the actual switch so i have no idea, and ive fiddled with some wiring so i cant test it.
What i require is the tab wiring outputs, preferably in a diagram so i can understand it.

There is a small Wiring Diagram in my Brothers 1965 Galaxie Shop Manual for Ignition System...But it say's it for 'Transistorised Ignition'...Is'nt that for Electronic Ignition???

im not sure. Most likely, just scan it or something and ill tell you whether its teh same as mine..
