64 Galaxie headrests??? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

A friend of mine just purchased a 64 Galaxie 500 XL. The bucket seats have brackets on them for headrests. I have never heard of this. He was told it was factory installed on the 500XLs with the 427. Does anyone know if this is true? Does anyone know where to find a pair of these headrests?

I had a 64 XL when new that had head rests, but they were aftermarket. They never looked right. I never herd of them on the 427 Galaxies, I know of one close by me that does not have them, that is not to say that you could not order them. Check with the Galaxie Club to see if someone knows for sure.
