65 galaxie 500 fuel tank - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I have a 65 galaxie 500 2door hardtop. my prob is my fuel tank rusted out and i can not find one for a 65 anywhere. I found a 66 tank but people told me that it will not fit just wondering if anyone knows what it what?

also the car has a crusie-o-matic with a 352 ad i am putting a 390 out of a 68 galaxie in it will it fit the 65 tranny?

if anyone can help me they are a life saver

I would be willing to bet he meant to say he had to use the 65 neck.

check over at fordmuscleforums dot com in their galaxie thread...I am pretty sure I recall reading the 66 tank required a new seal and straps...that one thread on that site gets a boatload of galaxie traffic
