66 Galaxie turn signal ? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Can someone tell me why on the 66 they had two different front turn signals on the car. Some have two lenses, one on top of the other, the other had a wider single lens.

the dual turn lights went into the LTD & the 7 liter because they had an upgraded/premium grill. where as the lesser models had 1 turn light on each side. Need pics?? type in a google search for "1966 ford galaxie 7 liter pic's" & then a search for "1966 ford galaxie 500 pic's" you will see why..

Thanks, tried to look at some picts too. Just didn't see the difference. I thought some of the 500XL (non 427) showed the double signal too.

the '66 500xl has two turn signal housings built into the grill, however only the top one is active the bottom one must be there for balance as it does not have a bulb socket.
