Just scored a 'birthday' car for my friend. His 'build' date is April 19, 1964 which was a Sunday, so he wouldn't find a US Ford built exactly on his Bday. Locally, I found a Galaxie coupe, build date 21D, the Tuesday after his birthday: pretty tough; interior missing, glass gone, somewhat ok body, 352
2V auto, unplated since '73. Stopped back at the yard to say I'd pick it up soon and the guy said "I just hauled a '64 wagon back there with a 'Tbird' motor in it". Ok, I just HAD to look. A pretty nice Rangoon Red Country Sedan with factory 390 4V automatic and dual exhausts. A MUCH nicer car than the Galaxie 500 coupe. Well, the build date wasn't any closer, but it wasn't any farther away, either! It was 17D! The Friday BEFORE his birthday! What are the odds of finding two cars in the same yard in a small town in North Dakota two days on either side of a certain date 42 years previously? Kinda spooky...Anyway, I pick up the car on Tuesday, Sept 5th.

Sounds like a great car to restore and have some fun with. I have a friend here in Oregon that has a Country Sedan wagon with a 390. The wagons are hard to find, they were pretty well used up for work rigs.
