Re: Brakes on a 63.5 Galaxie
Hi, I'm very familiar with doing home brake jobs. I do my own on my everday drivers and my collector 63 1/2 Galaxie. Here in British Columbia a rough estimate for parts as you listed would be: All prices in Canadian $$. Master Cylinder about $60-$80, wheel cylinders about $25-$35 ea., shoes about $30-$35 for front and same for rears, spring kits about $10-$15 each one kit for rear, one for front. Flex hoses (rubber lines) two for the front about $25 ea, and one for the rear about same. Sometimes watch your local buy-sell-trade newspapers if you have any and you can pick up some real bargins in the auto parts sections. I lucked out one day, saw an ad and a guy had two front and two rear brand new wheel cyclinders for $50. So I didn't hesitate, cause if you snooze, you looze. Those kind of brake parts are readily available at auto parts distributors. Most are the same from 60-66 full size Fords, except some master cylinders have slight modifications. Hope this helps you out.
