Does'nt anybody have anything to say about a Galaxie in the whole World??? Surely somebody cares???Are there any Australians like me out there who can tell me their Ford Galaxie Story and/or have any Pic's??? Well, I'm not in OZ, but heres a link to the tale of an old 4 door, if you get bored:
For more Galaxie traffic, you can also try these lists(I hate the format compared to here, but there is some traffic...will try to get more to migrate over here to fordforums- maybe you can too)
If you like those big Galaxies theres another website you can go to.. www.lovefords.com and did you try www.galaxieclub.ca thats our club here in Canada, its based in Vancouver BC and you can view members cars there.
There was a nice red 64 Galaxie sedan at the Albury All Ford Day (30th Jan) with a 390, very original and in excellent condition. They also had a running trailer-mounted 390 engine with about 2-3’ of exhaust pipe on each side and spark plugs in the end so they could get flames shooting out the exhaust.
There was also an immaculate dark green later model Gal too.
There are a few still around, but not many in frequent use given fuel prices! In my home town I used to see a couple of black 65-66 wagons, usually with ski boats on the back.

gotta search for it but fordgalaxieclubofamerica has a page of member pics- lot of 7litre pics...will try to find later- gotta run....
RRRRUUUUUUSSSSSSTTTTTTTTT....AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent job...who would have guessed the Chassis condition when you see how mint the car looked in the photos.Keep us up to date...Thanx!!!
Ive seen enough rust to last me for a while. If I get started on the mustang, am expecting more of the same fun- old ohio car with tons of undercoating thats sat in unheated garage for 20 yrs- at least its all light sheetmetal, all of which repops are available, might make things a bit easier. It sure seems like letting a car sit in closed garage does as much or more damage than having it sit out- went out midday last week and there were small puddles around the wheels where condensation was running off like from a cold can of pop in July. I think the stagnant wet air/condensation really does a job on them- thinking about leaving a small fan running across the garage floor to help move that dead air around/keep the temp more uniform and see if that might keep things drier...cars that sit out might get 'frost' at dawn/dusk temp swings, but never seen one still sweating in the afternoon.

That sound's like enough of a worry to consider moving !!!
Have you thought about those EMS or whatever they are called.
Runs a small voltage through the car, not enough to ruin your electrics, but enough to "supposedly" rust-proof the car.
Seeing cars already running a ground earth ie. chassis is earthed to negative, current already passes through the body. To prevent corrosion you would have to coat the car with an electrolitic coating and pass a positive current from the outside to the negativley charged body beneath the coating. This is known as cathodic protection. These EMS? systems that you place a small anode somewhere that passes a current will simply protect that local spot only but cause other places to corrode faster.
Ive done some reading on corrosion(if youd seen the pics of the old 65 frame youd know why) and there is a lot of cool info out there- rust is a electrical process, and where the electric 'rust killers' have some science behind them, from all Ive read/emailed, they dont work as advertised...yes the anodes will corrode away, but distances from the rest of the cars steel only makes effects 'highly local'. I still wonder about a few microamperes of high voltage DC and having the car sit on like a mylar sheet...I still think it might be possible for capacitive coupling to protect the entire underside of car in storage, but have emailed several 'experts' and they dont think its worth it, and thought it probably wouldnt work either...then too if too much capacitance could be found between car/ground the current stored be might kill someone if they touch the car...always a drawback: )
I'm gonna put small floor fans under the cars- airflow will always help
