Has anybody heard of an oil dipstick breaking in half? I went to check my oil and half of it was missing? My first thought was vandalism. Where it broke off, it is bent pretty bad. Then I thought maybe the oil pan got crushed, but it looks good. Do you think I have to drop the oil pan and look for the rest of the dipstick?

that would certainly make me nervous, before dropping the pan i would drain the oil and put a good sized magnet on the bottom of the pan, drag it around toward the drain hole and see if anything comes by. also check the oil for metal, i have seen the crank grab a dipstick and chew it up.
