Hello everyone, new poster here. My old man, has 64 500XL Convertible that has been around for about 10 years, with minor restoration work. Now he's diced to park it and get a second car to drive, while we work on the Galaxie.

I was just curious as to what books or any info that would be helpful. We plan to pull the motor, while we send the body to a shop. So mainly engine work is what I'd like to study up on. I've done some extensive work before, on my mid 90's mustang 5.0, and ford trucks, but I've never done a full rebuild, so any help would be great!

First suggestion, get yourself a 1964 shop manual, try ebay for a start.
Also try this website for shop manuals www.autopaper.com

You might check out the Ford Galaxie Club website. www.galaxieclub.com
maybe get yourself a catalogues www.concoursparts.com and they have books listed in their catolog for lots of ford stuff.
