leave chrome or painted??

I have a '64 GalaxieXL that had painted bumpers when I got it. it. Probably because my asshole brother [who I got the car from] was to cheap to replace them. Had a garage fire last year and decided on fiberglass hood, fenders and bumpers while the car was being repaired. I had them painted also, because I couldn't imagine the car anyway else. Personally I love the look, the car is Cayman [Teal]. The look is different because all the cars had them back then. I think it depends on the car. If you notice most of the newer cars are painted.

I like the painted look, but mine are chrome for now, maybe they'll stay that way.

I like originality. I know rechroming is expensive now, but prefer the chrome bumpers on those Galaxies. The bumpers of the old cars were not blended or moulded in and formed with the shape of the body of todays cars. Bumpers then were a stand alone out front item.

i agree, unless you cut down the bumper supports to bring the bumper in up to the body i think it would look a little strange.
