Shoe polish?

No, not Polish shoes . . . . shoe polish. :) Anyway, what are your thoughts on possibly using this as a restorative/protective agent for black interior leather?

Re: Shoe polish?

I've heard that some of these Products can seem to work well in the short term...but can actually be damaging in the long term, such as drying out Leather etc???

Re: Shoe polish?

Shoe polish on leather equals BAD
The polish doesnt actually sink into the leather, it creates a very thin layer over the leather. So you would get black all over your clothes.

Re: Shoe polish?

My Galaxie has a black vinyl top and I use a lubicrant called LPS 2 and have encountered no problems. It similar to WD 40 but has more consistency and lasts longer and seems to keep the vinyl soft. I would not use shoe polish as it may start drying out and cause cracking. You would be better off using WD 40.

Re: Shoe polish?

OK . . . thanks for the replies. :) I'm a former US Marine . . . so I'm very familiar with shoe polish. However . . . I'm only familiar with it as it pertains to my boots.
