Speedometer cable housing in tranny

Hi i'm trying to remove to cable housing on my tranny but it doesn't come off. I can rotate it but dont pull the god damn thing out.

No, the only thing thats is holding it is a small flat iron piece with a hole that the speedometer cable runs through that is bolted with one screw next to the cable housing, see picture ---





(Not my tranny)

Put it in neutral and try wiggling it out while turning the yolk/drive shaft. You'll need to raise the rear wheels to turn it.
