I can't believe how excited I'm getting about buying a 65/66 4-door sedan... I guess I'm getting old! Problem is, I'm having trouble finding the information I need. Basically, I want a crash course on options and trim levels and so forth. I'd like to have a site I could go to with color and interior information for each year. (I've been spoiled with all the Mustang info out there.) Is there such a site?

For instance, I'm pretty sure the XL was top of the line and the Custom was a base model (right?), but I'm lost beyond that. Is there as much back seat room in a 2-door as in a 4-door? How many interior color choices were there for each year? Was there a chrome wheel option or only wheel covers? And on and on and on...

Someone point me to a site or I'll bug y'all to death!

Thanks once again for your help ford4v. I have been to this site (even ordered one of their parts catalogs), and to be honest - it raised more questions than answers! For example, it says:

"The 1966 Galaxie and Full Size Ford was available in 19 different models which spanned seven different series of body designations. ...The exterior was available in 15 Super Diamond Lustre enamels, or 23 two tone combinations as well as 42 upholstery choices..."

They go on to briefly describe 5 of the models, but that's about it. What where the other 14? I'm curious to know what these 15 "Diamond Lustre" colors and 23 two-tone combinations were and what the 42 upholstery choices were. (Wow - 42! Really?)
